In this talk, we discuss the global property for a local holomorphic isometry, up to conformal factors, from a Kahler manifold into a product of complex projective spaces equipped with the induced Fubini-Study metric. This in particular includes the case when the target is a product of Hermitian symmetric spaces of compact type. We allow the conformal factors to be negative and obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for the conformal factors for the global extension and rigidity for the maps to hold. Our consideration is motivated by the recent studies of Clozel-Ulmmo and, in particular, the work of Mok. This is a joint work with Yuan Yuan from JHU.
